America’s curiosity about quarterback Tim Tebow’s faith led “John 3:16” to become the most searched term of the day on Google.
One Colorado-based ministry capitalized on that sensation this weekend, during Saturday’s Broncos versus Patriots playoff game.
Focus on the Family produced a television commercial about the New Testament verse — one of the signature verses Tebow was known for wearing on his eye black during his college days.
The simple ad, which aired on CBS early in the game, featured children repeating John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The spot ended with a close up of a young girl who looked into the camera and said, “Wow!”
